Holiday Activities and Food (HAF)

Funded by the Department for Education, the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme will be providing free activities over the school Christmas holidays for those in Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. All participants also receive a meal.

Visit Brighton & Hove's online booking tool to see what's available and request a booking: https://eequ.org/brightonhovehaf.

Dates available:

Week 1: Monday 23rd, Tuesday 24th and Friday 27th December 2024

Week 2: Monday 30th, Tuesday 31st December 2024, and Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd January 2025

With both activities for children and family events, Winter HAF is offering a little bit of everything! Choose from sport camps to playschemes, from immersive Christmas experiences to art and drama activities, to family cookery workshops and celebrations, to theatre trips and STEM activities.

All HAF providers are expected to be inclusive and where reasonably possible accommodate individual additional needs. There is limited activity solely for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), however the following providers have HAF specific tickets with 1:4 support in place:

Activ8 for Kids @ Bevendean and Mileoak Primary Schools

Artpod @ High Street, Rottingdean

Press Play Film @ St George's Hall, Brighton

Brighton & Hove City Council's Childcare Inclusion Fund is available to support those with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) or Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children, to make additional funding available where additional staff or resources would be required to make the HAF provision more accessible.

Each eligible participant will be allocated up to 4 HAF places over the school Christmas holidays, with one activity per day.

Please visit www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/HAF to learn more about HAF, or contact HAF@brighton-hove.gov.uk with any questions.
